May Design Series unveils new website and branding

May Design Series has today unveiled its new website, as well as a new creative concept for 2015. ‘Curated for Business’ by UBM Live Built Environment, the show aims to become the UK’s defining international interiors exhibition, seeking to fuel the industry by bridging the gap between the commercial and the design worlds.

In addition to detailing the latest news of the event, which takes place at ExCeL London from 17-19th May, the website also hosts a dedicated area imparting business insights which will feature bestselling product features, industry interviews and more. By adopting a sleek and minimalist look in order to make navigating the website as simple as possible, the new branding reflects the functionality of the business-focused event.

David Azurdia, creative partner at design agency Magpie which delivered the new creative concept, says: “Key to this year’s creative has been redefining what May Design Series stands for as a show. Founded on the show’s vision to become the UK’s primary interiors trade event, we introduced the central idea of 'curating for business’ in order to position the event as a real-world, commercial show, unashamedly tailored to a buying audience. Visually, the campaign sits firmly in the glossy world of interiors, whilst referencing the prospect of commercial growth. It was a pleasure to work with UBM on this project - they had a clear understanding of the gap in the market that they intend to fill, and know exactly how to achieve this.”

Suzie Ager, brand director for May Design Series, says: “We know our market and what is missing from the UK calendar, and the reason that visitors attend our event is to do business - it was crucial that our website and branding reflected this. It’s also important for us to maintain our commercial focus outside of the three days that our doors are open, which is why we created the Business Insights section.”

The May Design Series website also hosts a dedicated hub for New Design Britain, the initiative which seeks to bring emerging graduate designers to the forefront of the commercial design industry.
