Furniture News can exclusively reveal that Matt O’Flynn, sales & marketing director of upmarket upholstery manufacturer Meadowmead Ltd, has announced that he is leaving the company on 2nd May.
Having worked in the family business for 22 years, Matt believes it is now a good time to move on, and look for a new challenge and a chance to exercise his broad skill set.
For four years, chartered director Matt has been chairman of the Long Eaton Guild of Furniture Manufacturers, and in this capacity has been pivotal in organising the biannual Long Point exhibitions within the town.
He also currently serves as the vice chairman of the association of British Furniture Manufacturers (BFM), and recently represented the industry in discussions with MPs regarding Flammability Regulations.
Meadowmead Ltd owns the John Sankey and Henderson Russell brands, and supplies John Lewis through its own brand, iD. Highly regarded in the market, the company has made great progress recently, becoming the first manufacturer to gain accreditation by FIRA for its Lifetime Guarantee, and launching the industry-leading ‘Sankifier’ design tool on the John Sankey website. In addition, more and more stockists are seeing the benefits of integrating John Sankey installations within their showrooms.
Matt wishes the company and its customers all the best for the future, and thanks them for many enjoyable years. Matt is not set on his next move at the time of going to press, but is actively pursuing opportunities. He will continue to represent the BFM this year, and will be present at London's ExCeL in this capacity for the duration of the May Design Series exhibition next month.
