This month saw the debut of the Autumn Furniture Show at the Telford International Centre, an extension of the Minerva buying group’s members-only event to the wider trade. Incorporating several flooring members of the SMG group and a delegation of Belgian suppliers under the BelgoFurn banner, the show featured over 90 exhibitors, presenting product across various sectors, delivered in a highly-professional manner.
“The team put an awful lot of effort into the show, and overall we were happy with the results,” says Minerva’s business development manager Paul Riches. “Minerva members supported the first day in record numbers and overall attendance, we thought, was quite good. The board are meeting in December to review the format and dates, although I can confirm that the Autumn Furniture Show 2015 will take place.”
Derek Hayes, founder of Minerva, which celebrates its 25-year anniversary next year, adds that whilst the show’s audience is widening, Minerva is aiming to deliver a greater amount of exclusive product to its members at next year’s event.
