Nathan Furniture reports that it is making significant brand investment this year, with new products, a larger January Furniture Show stand and the launch of a 100-year anniversary campaign.
A century after Barnett Nathan first started making furniture in his workshop in East London, the company, which still bears his name, is celebrating 100 years of manufacturing in 2016. Together with its sister company Sutcliffe Furniture (which it acquired in 2011) Nathan Furniture is now based at Frostholme Mill on the Yorkshire/Lancashire border.
Nathan and Sutcliffe are part of the newly-created Nathan Group. Following the acquisition of the Morris Furniture Brands in August, the group's portfolio now includes Morris, Zone and Relaxateeze.
Nathan Furniture is marking the centenary with an integrated marketing campaign to increase its profile and recognition with consumers, and further establish the design and manufacturing credentials of the brand.
Nicholas Radford, chairman of Nathan Group, comments: “Our 100th anniversary is something to be celebrated and is the ideal platform to launch new products and a new campaign to build equity in the brand and support our retail customers. Today we have one of the largest furniture manufacturing sites supplying the retail trade in the UK of upper-middle market furniture, and our mill continues to produce high-quality furniture. We will be highlighting both our design credentials but also our cabinetmaking skills to the consumer."
