National Bed Federation (NBF) membership has passed the 100 mark, with a total of 65 UK bed and mattress manufacturers and 36 suppliers to the association. The approved trade body has seen membership double in the last 10 years.
Some of its newest members include Dreams’ manufacturing division and, more recently, Dreamworks Beds, both of which have passed the stringent NBF Code of Practice process.
“Reaching 100 members is a real milestone for the association,” says NBF executive director, Jessica Alexander. “Membership gains have been driven by a number of factors including investment in training through the Sleep Council Sales Academy (SCSA), the NBF awards and the annual Bed Show, which is now in its seventh year. The Bed Show is an exclusive event for members only, and we’ve seen NBF membership increase since it started.
“Another contributing factor is the introduction of the NBF Code of Practice, which was first launched in 2014 and has been developed further this year. Every NBF manufacturer member must pass an independent audit against the code’s strict criteria, which provides support and added reassurance not only for those in the trade, but for the consumer as they know they’re purchasing a safe, honest and clean product.”
“Overall, I think we’ve acknowledged our transformation into a professional body, which has been well received in the industry."
