The National Bed Federation (NBF) has launched a pioneering Introduction to Beds course to provide the ultimate backgrounder for anyone and everyone joining the industry.
Hosted within its online Sleep Council Sales Academy (SCSA) programme, the new course works as a standalone introduction to the industry.
Due to be officially unveiled at the NBF Bed Show from 20th-21st September, it is ideal for individuals and teams fresh on the bed scene, either in retail or manufacturing, working in sales, buying, customer services or production – in fact, any role within an organisation involved in the bed industry.
Introduction to Beds will provide key information and learnings about the UK bed market facts and figures, relevant legislation, product guidance and a glossary of industry terminology, knowledge on major brands and the NBF Code of Practice.
To encourage maximum take-up, the module is being offered free to retailers for an introductory period from 20 September until the end of the year, and is also free to all NBF member companies.
NBF marketing manager, Simon Williams, says: “Whether it’s your first job in retail bed sales, manufacturing or buying, or you’re an experienced sales person from a different sector - having the relevant industry learning and knowledge ensures the highest standards are continually being met.
“Typically, the Sleep Council Sales Academy course is aimed at those in sales roles, but the NBF recognised that anyone working in the bed sector also needs to have a basic understanding of the marketplace to operate more effectively and productively, as we continue to raise standards and promote excellence within our industry.
“All those completing The Introduction to Beds course will receive a certificate of achievement. The beauty of this course is it can be accessed anywhere online using either your PC, tablet or mobile. Delegates signing up can download the Sleep Hub app to track learning progress and complete the course remotely.
“We’ve worked hard to develop an interesting learning programme and Introduction to Beds includes videos and various downloads to help achieve this.”
Introduction to Beds will be offered free until the end of December 2016.
