The National Bed Federation (NBF) has been awarded the ESG Initiative of the Year accolade in the Trade Association Awards 2024, which set out to recognise the best and the brightest of the UK association sector.
The NBF was among 18 winners crowned on 22nd February at the De Vere Grand Connaught Rooms in London.
Over the past 10 years, the NBF has actively encouraged and supported its members towards a more sustainable future, and is committed to continuing this journey in 2024 and beyond.
The judges commended the NBF for its longstanding commitment to delivering impactful sustainability projects and initiatives for the bed sector.
The NBF highlighted three key projects that were undertaken during the award period. These included: the development of ecodesign principles for mattresses and a practical ecodesign assessment toolkit to facilitate implementation; the launch of an Innovate UK part-funded project to develop a new cleanliness of filling methodology and test fit for reused and recycled fillings; and the facilitation of the launch of the Mattress Recycling Association and its Register of Approved Mattress Recyclers (RAMR).
