A brand new bed company, backed by more than 40 years’ experience of the trade, has been launched.
Matza Sleep Technology has been formed by Asif Ayub, son of Highgate Beds entrepreneur Mohammed Ayub, and his three brothers Mazhar, Tahir and Zahid. Their combined names inspired the new company name. Matza is based at the family’s former Sleepmode premises in Dewsbury.
“Matza is a family business and my brothers are all involved. Bedmaking is in our blood and, as the next generation, we felt there was an opportunity to do for the contemporary bed market what Highgate has done so well for the traditional market over the past four decades,” says Asif.
Matza already has a rich pedigree of supplying high quality, white label beds and bedroom accessories to international retailers, smaller independents and contract clients.
Recently it also introduced its own brand including nine mattresses incorporating the company’s own innovations, Zero Gravity foam and its own special fibre. Matza also uses Outlast smart fabric on all its mattresses and makes strikingly crafted headboards, divan sets, divan bases, ottomans and blanket boxes, all available in a choice of 32 fabric and colour options.
Said Asif: “Our sleep experts have developed a lifestyle-led range which takes the best of everything currently on offer across the industry resulting in the ultimate bedroom furniture.”
Zero Gravity is Matza’s trademarked innovative foam which is set to revolutionise bedmaking. It uses the best of existing foam and latex technology to create a ‘light’ sleeping experience. The foam works with the body’s natural energy to create sink-in support while offering a weightless sensation and is used in all Matza mattresses.
The company’s special fibre gives the feeling of goose down without the allergens, being a totally hypo-allergenic product.
Matza, which trades completely separately from Highgate Beds, has its own dedicated foam conversion and CNC routing plant all within a modern, 60,000 sq ft production facility in West Yorkshire.
Dedicated to making beds which look and feel great within a realistic price range, Matza achieves this through operational efficiencies and a policy of ongoing investment in leading edge technologies.
The company deals with international retailers, smaller independents and contract clients, providing a personalised and bespoke service.
