Design graduate awards programme New Design Britain has announced a new partnership with luxury design event, Decorex International. Following the success of the 2015 awards, the UBM-organised programme now has the opportunity to showcase the 2016 awards finalists at this event.
After bridging the gap between education and industry for the past 14 years, New Design Britain is set to become better than ever with the support of Decorex, providing entrants with an opportunity to present their work to over 12,000 industry professionals.
Past alumni of the awards, including James Harrison, Rob Scarlett, Hannah Stanton and Daniel Schofield, have gone on to have their designs stocked by retailers such as Heal’s, Habitat and John Lewis.
Programme curator Allie Little comments: “Following the success of this year’s awards, we are now seeing more support than ever from the industry, and the move to Decorex signifies a step up for the programme. To have the support of a respected event at the heart of the industry will be invaluable to the programme’s future, and we can now look forward to some exciting plans ahead. ”
Alison Jackson, group director, adds: “New Design Britain is a valuable asset to the industry, acting as support for talented design graduates to bridge the gap following education. The partnering of New Design Britain graduates with the established community of Decorex will provide an important platform for both young designers and established industry brands to nurture innovation. UBM are proud to support the design industry to ensure a bright future for young design talent.”
Decorex 2015 will take place at Syon Park from 20th-23rd September.
