Two new furniture technicians have been appointed to cover Central Scotland. Furniture care and repair specialist FIRA Service Technicians has recruited the technicians to cover demand for the service.
Kevin Oaten and William Tomaszewski, who both live in Falkirk, will each operate in the region to provide a service to customers in the area.
For the past five years, Kevin has been transporting, trading and refurbishing antique furniture throughout Europe. He has restored a wide range and style of furniture and has also been trained in the use of Annie Sloane specialist paints, which are particularly relevant for antiques of French origin. He also has a keen interest in leather furniture restoration. Prior to this, Kevin was a police officer, leaving in 1999 to work for domestic and commercial building contractor, NPC Services.
William is a qualified furniture restorer with over 15 years' of experience in carpentry and joinery. He has a HND in furniture restoration and spent a year in Holland restoring a government building and church where he gained a wealth of experience in restoration and conservation. William was also taught by world-renowned chairmaker, Tom Thackeray, in the art of Windsor chair making.
Richard Whitbread, technician manager for FIRA Service Technicians, says: “I am really pleased to welcome Kevin and William on board. They have both now completed the FIRA Service Technicians’ training course which covers our report writing requirements, aspects of consumer law and specific client product training. They are now ready to start undertaking visits to customers in Central Scotland. We are responding to an increase in demand for our services, so we have brought onboard additional technicians in order to maintain our service levels.”
