With Jamie Hobbs, founder of luxury outdoor furniture company Indian Ocean, stepping down after 33 years as MD, David Mahony has been appointed as the company's commercial director, and will manage all commercial and operational aspects of the business.
David has a background in fashion, having held senior positions at Moncler, Burberry and Prada, and brings strong organisational, leadership and business management skills as well as a passionate belief in team-building to drive company performance.
Jamie comments: “David has significant experience in managing and running businesses in the luxury sector and we are fortunate to have recruited him to Indian Ocean.”
The transition will allow more time for Jamie to focus on furniture design, as well as longer-term strategy. “I want to do more of what I love, which is creating beautiful, well-designed furniture to help our clients enjoy their time spent relaxing outdoors,” he adds.
