Glenn De Maeseneer has succeeded Lieven Van den Heede as MD of the Brussels Furniture Fair.
Lieven worked on the show for 16 years – the last seven of them as MD – and is now:"looking for a new challenge".
Luc Meers, the fair's new chairman, comments: "With his years of experience as a sales and project manager at home and abroad, Glenn has the necessary skills to achieve our goals. In a short amount of time, he has managed to win back the trust of our exhibitors, and his vision perfectly matches the path that the Furniture Fair Brussels wants to take."
"The sector itself is still fairly new to Glenn, but he has proven in other sectors what he can achieve. In addition, we as the board of directors are of course always ready to provide the necessary support.
"Our goal? That remains supporting the market in a financially healthy way with the appeal our visitors and exhibitors deserve. The personal relationship with our exhibitors, visitors and suppliers remains extremely important to us. Therefore, our team will be expanded in order to be able to offer the necessary quality of service.
Joining Glenn as MD are operational manager Christine De Visscher, and marketing and communications manager Thomas Hibert. The board of directors no comprises Luc Meers (chairman); Marc Veldeman (vice-chairman); Gratia Vanderschelden (treasurer); Hans Vandendriessche; and Dirk Steenbeke.
"In the meantime, we are looking forward with great confidence and enthusiasm to the next edition of the Brussels Furniture Fair which, as always, will take place in early November," Luc continues. "With an occupancy rate of 80%, we are already well above the capacity achieved last year. Even in these uncertain times, you can count on the Furniture Fair Brussels as a platform for the furniture trade."
