The winners of a new awards programme dedicated to pillows will be announced this Friday (Valentine's Day).
The Comfy's are the brainchild of new bedding enterprise 100% Comfort (see related), which sought to shine a light on the pillow sector's best products by establishing an independent awards programme, informed by a panel of expert judges.
"The idea is to raise the profile of different types of pillows with the general public, and boost the understanding of just how important the right pillow is to your sleep and your life," says 100% Comfort co-founder, Greg Suthern.
"The Comfy’s are the ultimate accolade in the world of comfort – celebrating excellence, innovation and outstanding achievements across the pillow and sleep industry. Judged by a panel of esteemed industry experts, The Comfy’s set the benchmark for quality, recognising brands and individuals that excel in creating products that enhance lives through comfort and rest."
The award categories are: Best Anti-Allergy Pillow; Best Anti-Snore Pillow; Best Cooling Pillow; Best Feather Pillow; Best King Size Pillow; Best Latex Pillow; Best Luxury Pillow; Best Memory Foam Pillow; Best Pain Relief Pillow; Best Value Pillow; Best Washable Pillow; and Best Wool Pillow.
This year's judging panel comprises: Emma Rackley (director of furniture, Associated Independent Stores (AIS)); Greg Suthern (joint-CEO and founder, 100% Comfort); Gabrielle Jarman (head of buying, The Works); Mark Jeffery (operations and quality specialist); and Becca Maloy (head of buying, 100% Comfort).
Greg says he hopes The Comfy's will grow to become an annual industry fixture.
