Oak Furniture Land has been named as a finalist in the Multi-Channel Retailer category at the Oracle Retail Week Awards, to be held on 12th March next year.
It is the only furniture retailer to have been shortlisted in the category, with other nominees including Argos, Asda, Bathstore, The Dune Group, House of Fraser, John Lewis, Monsoon Accessorize and Screwfix.
The Multi-Channel Retailer category recognises UK retailers that have successfully used a combination of channels to grow sales and profit, improve their customer service and have proven to exploit new opportunities for growth in the last 12 months.
Following high growth in 2012/13, Oak Furniture Land enjoyed another year of significant progress, increasing its selling space by 25% with seven new showrooms and the relocation or refurbishment of five existing sites. At the same time, the company has continued to refine and improve its online proposition across multiple devices, which has contributed to growing web sales.
Jason Bannister, owner and MD of Oak Furniture Land, comments: “We are absolutely delighted to be recognised in this category. The journey we have been on has been almost unique, being one of very few retailers to follow the ‘clicks to bricks’ route successfully. As such, there was no template to follow and to have achieved what we have so far is a testament to our growing understanding of the multi-channel environment.”
The shortlist will be judged by a panel of leading industry authorities, including: Alex Baldock, CEO of Shop Direct; Andy Clarke, president and CEO of Asda; Peter Ruis, CEO of Jigsaw; and John King, CEO of House of Fraser.
