Polish fairs postponed to May

The Meble Polska and Home Decor trade fairs, scheduled for February 2022, will now be held in Poznań, Poland in May 2022.

The change of date was made at the request of key visitors and exhibitors. Meble Polska will now run from 16-19th May.

"We were fully prepared to hold the fair in February with the highest safety measures in place. However, we had to take into account travel concerns expressed by some visitors," says Meble Polska's director, Józef Szyszka

As of mid-January, buyers from 50 countries had registered their participation in the Poznań fairs, yet some key buying groups, mainly from Germany, signalled a significant reduction in the number of representatives at the February fair, or even the complete cancellation of their participation. At the same time, buyers indicated that May was a suitable alternative date for the fair in Poznań. Exhibitors informed about the possible absence of their clients in February opted for the postponement.

"Everyone, both furniture manufacturers and buyers, is looking forward to the meeting. Meble Polska is currently the only furniture trade fair in Europe offering such a wide range of medium- and lower-priced furniture," explains Józef, adding that the information received from the exhibitors shows that moving the date to May will be beneficial due to delays in order-processing cycles.

Home Decor director Aleksandra Wilk adds: "In the current situation, the May date seems much more beneficial for the interior design industry, too."

Show organiser Grupa MTP stresses that the May date is a one-off change resulting from the epidemic, and that the fairs will return to their traditional late-February slot in coming years.
