Despite a major calendar step-change from spring instalment to autumn this year, Dublin’s Furniture & Interiors Fair reported a modest uplift from previous editions.
Ireland’s largest trade event of its kind showed signs of returning to form in October, perhaps reflecting the prevailing economic winds.
Organiser Exhibitions Ireland recorded a 15% lift in footfall, as well as anecdotal evidence from “the majority of exhibitors, who cited a rise in new accounts in addition to meeting sales expectations”.
The fair also boasted a slight increase in the number of exhibitors. The new show dates encouraged the return of many indigenous wholesalers which had been missing from the event since the Irish property crash of 2008, including Honey B designs, Glass Drummond Imports, and Silkwood Furnishings.
