Retirement prompts new agent appointment at Serene

Having spent five years at Serene Furnishings' Lincoln and East Anglia sales agent, Lorraine Selby has decided to retire from the industry.

She says: “When I started in the furniture trade 30 years ago, I was constantly told it was a people's business, and it is. It is the people I will miss as I start on new adventures, my lovely retailers and the great people I have worked with. Serene Furnishings has been an exciting agency, constantly evolving with extended and new ranges. I wish everyone at Serene, and all my friends in the trade, all the very best for the future.”

Andrew Smith will be taking over from Lorraine. Andrew started his career in the furniture industry on his 13th birthday, and worked in retail for many years, before going to work as a representative for G Plan Cabinets and then an agent.

He says: "I am looking forward to selling a commercial product, that offers everything my customers look for – a value-for-money, clean product, well presented and with a quick delivery. Serene is a forward-looking business with an astute knack for finding the right product."
