ScS achieved Kitemark stamp of approval from BSI

ScS has received certification to the Kitemark for Domestic Furniture for its upholstered furniture, following an audit from BSI.

The BSI Kitemark is a recognised symbol of quality, safety and trust across a wide range of products and services around the world. Earlier this year the institution tested ScS’ sofa products on frame durability and safety and fabric fire regulation, both of which either met or exceeded the requirements needed to achieve the Kitemark.

Ian Allcock, supply chain sustainability manager at ScS, comments: “We’re delighted to have achieved certification to the BSI Kitemark and uphold the standards of one of Britain’s most-trusted independent bodies. Our suppliers have been through rigorous assessments to ensure we are able to offer our customers guaranteed high-quality furniture for great value to help them create the home they love.”

James Heese, ScS' commercial director, says: “For 128 years, providing unbeatable value for our customers has always been at the heart of our business, and in recognition of our unfaltering commitment to quality, I am really proud that we are able to offer our customers the reassurance that products are built to the highest quality and safety.”

Natasha Bambridge, global consumer promise practice director at BSI adds: “The Kitemark is a recognised mark of quality and distinction and provides consumers with the reassurance that products have been made with care and skill in an environment with rigorous factory process controls. It also demonstrates that each product type has been independently tested in accredited laboratories to withstand extremely demanding safety and durability trials. Huge congratulations to ScS on achieving certification to the Kitemark for domestic furniture – the team should be very proud of this result.”
