Silentnight to help BBC’s Graham Liver go the extra mile for Children in Need

Silentnight is supporting this year’s Children in Need by providing a bed for BBC presenter Graham Liver’s Pudsey to Bare endurance challenge.

The fundraising challenge will see the presenter pull a Silentnight bed more than 100 miles from Pudsey in West Yorkshire to Bare in Lancashire to raise money for the appeal.

Pudsey Bear and Graham Liver recently visited Silentnight’s famous Hippo at the factory in Barnoldswick to test out the bed ahead of the challenge. Graham will set off on the challenge on Saturday 12th November and hopes to be in Bare by Children In Need appeal night on Friday 18th November.

Graham says: “I’m really starting to get nervous about the challenge, it’s going to be tough. The Silentnight bed has been modified to make it roadworthy and this has added quite a lot of weight so dragging it around won’t be easy!

“Luckily I’ve seen first hand what a difference Children in Need makes to people’s lives so I’m hoping that will spur me on to complete the challenge. We’re incredibly grateful to Silentnight for providing us with the bed; it means we’ll be able raise as much money as possible for a very important cause.”

Throughout the challenge, Graham will be interviewing beneficiaries of Children in Need, live from the Silentnight bed. As well as providing the bed and mattress, Silentnight has donated £1000 to the Children in Need appeal.

Steve Freeman, MD at Silentnight, says: “It’s great that we’ve been able to do our bit for this year’s Children in Need. The mattress that we’ve gifted to the BBC is our Anniversary Mirapocket, which features our Geltex comfort layer so it will be really comfortable for Graham’s interviewees. We wish Graham the best of luck with his challenge.”
