The Sleep Council has launched a new month-long consumer awareness campaign, ‘May be time for a new mattress’, to highlight why it may be time to swap an old mattress for a new, comfortable, supportive one.
The Sleep Council is urging retailers and manufacturers to get behind its campaign, which offers a new retailer toolkit that is available to download and includes a logo, a poster which can be printed any size and two infographics to share on social media.
Lisa Artis of The Sleep Council says: “Our PR and marketing activity has always centred around National Bed Month and National Sleep In Day – our two big key awareness campaigns. However, this year, following the successful launch of Sleeptember last year and feedback from our Retail Panel, we’ve been developing more frequent smaller campaigns to sit alongside Bed Month and National Sleep In Day.
“It’s important to embrace new ideas for getting our messages across to the public, and we felt that a month dedicated to highlighting the importance of a new bed was a fun way of doing that. It also underpins our ongoing Seven Year Hitch replacement and hooks into the launch of our new Bed Buyers Guide which is now available.
“While there will be the normal PR activity around the campaign, our May campaign will focus heavily on social media – through Twitter and Facebook - with quirky infographics, competition giveaways and pushing our new updated, more visually attractive Bed MOT on the Sleep Council website, which is averaging over 35,000 unique visitors a month.
“It really is important that we get the backing and support of the industry on this campaign, like we do for National Bed Month and National Sleep In Day, to make it a success. It’s another opportunity for retailers to promote and ultimately sell more beds!”
