Following "a thorough recruitment process", Sofa Brands International (SBI) has appointed James Thompson as its new CEO, commencing on 1st May.
James brings a wealth of experience gained in the furniture industry, having previously worked for Hjort Knudsen as CCO, and as MD for Ekornes, whose brands include Stressless, Svane and IMG. His earlier career includes senior roles at Heal's and Harrods, giving him a deep understanding of the retail environment.

SBI says it has undergone a significant period of structural transformation under interim CEO Dave Knight. The board extends its sincere thanks to Dave for his contribution in establishing a solid platform for future growth. James will now lead the business into its next stage of development.
SBI designs, manufactures and distributes some of Britain’s best-recognised sofa brands including G Plan, Parker Knoll, Duresta and The Lounge Co. The company operates manufacturing sites in Melksham, Castlewood and Lithuania, and its products are available across the UK, as well as in Europe, Asia and the Middle East.
