Sofa.com has announced the opening of a new London showroom in Bankside. Situated in the historic railway arches of Burrell Street, Southwark, the new space has been renovated to maintain the character of the high ceilings and exposed brickwork.
Just a stone’s throw away from the Thames, Bankside is close to Borough Market and the Southbank cultural hub. The area is well served by transport links with Southwark and Blackfriars tube stations and the major railway termini of Waterloo and London Bridge close by.
Bankside is sofa.com’s fifth UK showroom and the third site in London, linking the recently opened space in Islington, North London, and the original Chelsea showroom in the South West of the capital.
Open seven days a week, sofa.com Bankside is home to a comprehensive selection of stylish, beautifully handcrafted sofas, armchairs, beds and accessories presented across two floors. The helpful showroom team are on hand to offer design inspiration and expert knowledge to help customers discover the perfect piece of furniture for their homes. Complimentary coffee and Prosecco are available as well as treats for dogs, and there is even a children’s entertainment area.
Emma Jenkins, chief marketing officer, says: “Bankside is a very exciting addition to our expanding portfolio of showrooms and we‘re thrilled to bring sofa.com to this lively district. The new space is located in a magnificent bare-brick railway arch which is full of charm and character. Fantastic transport links provide easy access to our unique sofa buying experience."
