Somnus, maker of luxury box spring beds, is returning to imm cologne for the 4th year running. This show is an important exhibition in the Somnus export strategy as the company continues to grow its sales of English-style handmade beds in the European market.
This year, Somnus celebrates 175 years of master bed making. To kick off the celebrations in 2015, the company has created two special edition models that will be previewed to the European market at imm cologne until 24th January.
The Royal Victoria and Royal Albert special edition models are aptly named after Queen Victoria and Prince Albert who married in 1840, the year Somnus was established. The 18,000 and 10,200 multi-tiered Sensa iP intelligent pocket springs in the mattress and divan sets dissipate the sleepers’ weight across the sleeping surface and are upholstered with fine hand-teased long stranded horsetail, Egyptian cotton, Yorkshire Dales eco wool, mohair and cashmere providing breathability and comfort.
The Supremacy collection will also be on display, showcased in the new Seven fabric collection which is a velvety soft fabric in a range of fashion colours, including cream, shitake, ivory, anthracite, grey and dolphin.
“Once again we are pleased to be exhibiting at this premier show, probably the most important trade fair in the European interiors shows calendar. Our growing team of dedicated Somnus Sales Managers with many years of experience in the bed industry reflects our commitment,” says Jason Lowdon, Somnus sales and marketing director.
The recruitment is underway for a new export sales director following the retirement of Alan Scott in December 2014. The successful candidate will be announced in the coming weeks.
