Lesley Graham, the buying director of Scotland’s largest independently owned furniture retailer, Sterling Home (formerly Sterling Furniture) – and daughter of the business' founder, George Knowles Snr – passed away peacefully on 23rd December.
Sterling states that Lesley was diagnosed with an interstitial lung disease some years ago, and although her health had deteriorated in recent months, the news of her passing came as "a sudden and profound shock to us all": "Lesley has worked in the family business for over 30 years, and is a highly respected and trusted furniture buyer. She has spent her working life travelling the world and forging lasting relationships and working partnerships with suppliers, agents and retailers alike.
"Her passing will be a huge loss to the industry and to our Sterling family – many of whom have known and worked with Lesley for a great number of years."
