Royal warrant holder, Hypnos Beds, found success at the National Bed Federation annual awards ceremony, by taking home two prestigious awards. After months of consideration by the expert judging panel, Hypnos was named as Bed Manufacturer of the Year, with chairman Peter Keen also winning the very special NBF lifetime achievement award.
Hypnos chairman Peter Keen comments: “We are over the moon to have won the coveted title of Bed Manufacturer of the Year, for the second time. As a company, we continue to work hard to push the boundaries of service, quality and design in bespoke, luxury bedmaking, so to be recognised for our hard work with an award yet again is incredible. We are all so proud.”
This recognition for the outstanding contribution Peter and Hypnos has made to the bed industry is proof not only of the Hypnos heritage and dedication to the craft of furniture making, but also shows security in its continued growth and position in the industry.
Peter has been instrumental in shaping the success of the Hypnos business for over 30 years and has seen its growth first hand through his nurturing and guidance. He has also been heavily involved with the NBF where he acted as president from 2006-2009. Peter played a huge part in creating the association that exists today, including helping to shape the Bed Show and Gala Dinner and Awards, the Code of Practice and the Sleep Council Sales Academy.
Peter adds; “I am very touched to have been selected for the Lifetime Achievement Award this year, having been involved in the association for eight years. There have been many changes to the NBF during my time there and I hope that it continues to be a vibrant association for years to come.”
These prestigious awards, now in their fourth year, are recognised as the show case for the bed industry. Stuart Hibbert, president of the NBF, comments: “The bed industry awards show the outstanding level of innovation and enterprise that the industry is capable of. This year the competition was stronger than ever and the quality of entries improves year-on-year, giving the judges an ever harder task.”
The winners of the 2014 awards were chosen from a record number of entries, by an independent panel of judges. Each picked for their industry expertise, the judging panel included the editors of trade journals, MD of Greenwood Retail Bernard Eaton, and Jessica Alexander, executive director of the NBF.
