Sweet Dreams to launch dedicated upholstery company

Burnley manufacturer Sweet Dreams is to launch a dedicated company manufacturing British-made upholstery, the company announced today.

Sweet Dreams, which recently opened a new £3m extension, is this year celebrating 25 years in business, and employs around 200 people. The new business, Comfort Zone Sofas, which will create further growth for the company, is already looking for a sales manager, sales co-ordinator and specialist agents. The company will operate from the Primrose Mill site.

“The time is right for us to launch a dedicated upholstery business,” explains Riaz Ahmed, Sweet Dreams’ founder, owner and MD. “Over the last few years we’ve proved that British-made upholstery brings success and this will be the focus of the new company. Sweet Dreams, meanwhile, will continue to run its own lines of upholstery with a mixture of British-made and bought-in goods.”

Comfort Zone Sofas will start trading at the beginning of 2014 and will be exhibiting at Interiors UK in January.
