Tempur Sealy International, the world’s largest bedding manufacturer, has announced that Tobin James, formerly MD of the UK and Benelux, has been promoted to vice president to lead the business' newly formed Northern Europe region.
The region will include Tempur companies in the UK, Sweden, Norway, Denmark and Finland. Sova, the Tempur Sealy-owned retail company in Sweden, will also be included.
Tobin will report to regional president EMEA, Hansbart Wijnand, and in addition to his new responsibilities, will continue to lead Tempur UK.
Tobin says: "I am delighted to be given the opportunity to work withour fantastic companies within the Northern Europe region. We have an experienced and talented leadership team in place.
"2020 has certainly been a year like no other but we are performing strongly in all markets and have very exciting plans that we expect will take our business and retailer partnerships to another level in the years to come."
Meanwhile, Sapna Khunkhun has been promoted to director, marketing & D2C (UK). Sapna has been the UK marketing manager for the past three years, and she will now join the Tempur UK senior leadership team with Tobin and Paula Thomas (director, finance & operations (UK)).
Several other promotions have also been made within the region: Björn Sörenson, MD (Sweden and Norway); Mark Pedersen, MD (Denmark); Arto Melanko, MD (Finland); Johan Forssman, MD (Sova); and Anne Charlotte Holm, director, finance & operations (Nordics).
