Tomorrow (Friday 12th December) is the deadline for January Furniture Show exhibitors to enter one of their new products or ranges in The Furniture Awards, a new award programme developed by Furniture News magazine in collaboration with the event’s organisers.
The Furniture Awards have been designed to recognise the best in new product unveiled at the event, across a range of price points. A team of prominent judges from the world of furniture retail will assess the creative and commercial value of the shortlisted entries before highlighting those considered best in class before the entire industry.
Last week, the judging panel, chaired by Furniture News’ editor, Paul Farley, was announced: Tristan Lynch, ecommerce director, WorldStores; furniture designer/developer Rob Scarlett; and Robert Shotton, owner of Cousins Furniture Stores.
Judging will take place from a shortlist of entries on the second day of the show.
Theresa Raymond, director of the January Furniture Show, comments: “Our exhibitors are at the show to sell and promote their new products, so having awards based on commercial viability makes sense. It levels the playing field in that every exhibitor has the same opportunity to win, whether they are aiming at the luxury or the volume end of the market.”
Exhibitors should have received an entry form directly from the organiser – if not, they can email [email protected] to request one. Entries must be received by midnight tomorrow (Friday 12th).
