Trade press association gathers in Paris

An early official AGM scheduling saw the Alliance of International Furnishing Publications (IAFP) attend the Espritmeuble exhibition in Paris from 5-8th December 2015.

Representatives from some 15 of the 19 member companies were invited to explore the fourth edition of the show. They encountered a concentrated, high-end collection of brands from France and further afield, within a welcoming, hospitable environment.

Upon closing, the show reported a slight drop in attendance – an experience in keeping with most of the city’s trade gatherings at that time, given the terrorist attacks that had taken place some three weeks previously, which left 130 dead.

At the event’s gala dinner, IAFP president Zeki Yucel took to the stage before more than 400 VIPs to praise the exhibition and its founders, as well as the courage of the French people in the aftermath of the attacks. He also presented French journalist Christian Brus, now retired, with an award to recognise his long service.

As well as informal meetings during imm cologne, the IAFP is set to contribute to a World Furniture Congress hosted by the IMOB exhibition in Istanbul later this month.
