Luxury wooden bedmaker Get Laid Beds has appointed Scott Shields as its new CEO.
Scott has over 20 years’ experience spanning manufacturing, marketing, BPO, strategy and growth across various sectors, moving to the Leicester-based manufacturing and ecommerce firm from his previous role as sales VP at TransUnion. Scott's prior roles include senior positions at Equiniti, Williams Lea and Hobs 4DM, and this will be his first in the home interiors sector.
The new CEO position comes as one of a few strategic top-level appointments the company plans to make over the coming months.
Co-founder of Get Laid Beds, Jonny Haskins, says: “Appointing Scott to spearhead our strategic growth is a very exciting prospect for us. We have no doubt that his years of expertise in technology will help direct us through our next period of growth.
"We are always looking for fresh perspectives and people who can take us to the next level, making Scott and his strategic insights a perfect fit for us going forward.”
Scott's previous role focused on cementing trust between businesses and consumers, ensuring each consumer is reliably represented in the marketplace. He says: “As someone based in the East Midlands, I’ve admired the Get Laid Beds business from a distance for some time now – not only for their beautifully designed and high-quality products, but for the founders' ambitions, and the way they have skilfully navigated the challenging past few years.
"I believe the knowledge I’ve accumulated throughout my career will help add strategic direction as we take Get Laid Beds from strength to strength.”
Get Laid Beds was launched in 2011 by Jonny Haskins and Jean Lombard. Each bed is handcrafted to order in the UK.
