Luxury bedmaker Vispring has announced the retirement of MD Jim Gerety and operations director Chris Harrison.
Jim joined the business as sales and marketing director in 2011, and was promoted to MD in 2016. His tenure saw Vispring enjoy its most successful year to date in 2022.
Jim’s passion for the bedmaking industry saw him elected as president of the National Bed Federation (NBF) last year, and he will continue to work with the federation's members.
Chris joined Vispring in 1981 at the age of 19 as a storage assistant. From there, he progressed to the factory floor, tufting and packing mattresses, and later moved on to the dispatch department.
In 1994, he became one of Vispring’s first team leaders, which resulted in the implementation of ground-breaking lean manufacturing processes.
During his 40 years at Vispring, Chris has shown great commitment, says the bedmaker – not only to the company, but also in his efforts to champion the Shetland wool industry over the past decade.
