Wayfair Inc has made several key appointments to its global operation.
Sean Halligan has joined the company as chief global supply chain officer, while Ashwin Rao and Niraj Nagrani have been appointed to its technology leadership team, as chief science officer and VP of global supplier marketplace, pricing, catalogue and merchandising technologies, respectively.
Sean will drive strategic supply chain initiatives from product discovery to final delivery, including the ongoing expansion of Wayfair’s fulfilment centre and delivery network and the development of the company’s global freight network.
He boasts more than two decades of experience of leading supply chains for large, customer-facing organisations including Cardinal Health, Nike and Target.
“I’ve watched Wayfair grow into an industry leader over the last decade, and could not be more excited to join the team – particularly now, as the company continues to expand its world-class operations footprint to support the ongoing growth of the business, including the expansion into new markets and physical retail,” says Sean. “The strength of Wayfair’s global supply chain drives a best-in-class experience for its customers and truly sets Wayfair apart as the go-to retailer for home in North America, Germany and the UK. I look forward to working with this talented team to continuously improve and enhance the customer experience through operations expertise and innovation.”
Both Ashwin and Niraj, meanwhile, will report to Wayfair’s incoming CTO, Fiona Tan, who says: “Technology underpins everything we do at Wayfair. As an ecommerce and supply chain leader with suppliers and operations around the world, Wayfair is at the forefront of solving some of the most sophisticated and complex technological challenges facing retail. Ashwin and Niraj bring valuable expertise to the leadership team as we work together to drive the future evolution of our customer experience across online and physical retail."
