Wayfair partnership delivers furniture assembly support

Wayfair has announced a partnership with same-day service platform Taskrabbit to bring furniture assembly support to customers across England and Wales.

The integration allows Wayfair customers to book assembly at checkout, connecting delivery and setup in a single journey. Taskrabbit’s network of local specialists will provide in-home assembly, helping customers move from delivery to fully assembled furniture more quickly and with less effort.

According to new independent research by Censuswide, commissioned by Wayfair and Taskrabbit, nearly 79% of UK adults find assembling flatpack furniture stressful, while 62% have made mistakes during assembly. A further 44% say they have delayed assembly due to a lack of time.

By removing the time and stress of instructions and tools, this collaboration aims to meet growing demand from shoppers who want their homes set up quickly without the time and complexity of putting the pieces together themselves.

The rollout marks an expansion of Wayfair’s service offering, moving beyond delivery to include assembly. Since its introduction in London, the service has seen strong uptake, says Wayfair, with more customers choosing to add assembly at checkout. Early trends indicate increased confidence when purchasing larger and more complex items.

William Merricks, GM at Wayfair UK, says: “This partnership is a key step in expanding Wayfair’s offering beyond delivery to a more complete home shopping experience. By integrating assembly at checkout, we’re removing a significant friction point for customers and making it easier to shop confidently for larger and more complex items.”

“At Taskrabbit, we are focused on helping people live better lives by removing the friction often associated with home improvement and furniture assembly,” adds Ania Smith, CEO of Taskrabbit. “We are giving shoppers a simple way to get their new furniture built quickly and ready to enjoy. This partnership takes the stress out of home setup for our customers and creates real earning opportunities for the Taskers.”

The launch across England and Wales responds to the growing demand for a more seamless way to furnish a home. By bringing Taskrabbit services directly into the Wayfair journey, the partnership removes the final hurdle of buying furniture online. providing a seamless way for UK customers to move from checkout to a completed home without the usual tools and stress.
