White Stores donates almost £2700 to Greenfingers charity

White Stores, one of the UK's leading outdoor living retailers of garden furniture and accessories, has raised £2,691.20 for the Greenfingers children's hospices charity.

Greenfingers creates new gardens at children's hospices across the UK. The chance for families and friends to spend time together outdoors, and away from the bedside, is precious and can bring many benefits to children with life-limiting and life-threatening conditions.

White Stores donated 10% of net sales (online, phone and in-store) on all products sold during Garden Re-Leaf Day 2015, Greenfingers' national fundraising event day, last Friday. With White Stores' first garden centre retail concession opening in Yarnton, Oxfordshire during the same week, it was the ideal opportunity for the White Stores team to maximise the total amount of sales possible.

"We are thrilled that we have raised this money for such a great cause," says James Whiteley, founder and MD of White Stores. "But none of this would have been possible without the generosity of our customers. White Stores more than doubled our normal day's sales on Garden Re-Leaf Day this year. Many shoppers told us they specifically decided to buy their garden furniture from us, rather than another retailer, after our staff had mentioned Greenfingers and they'd read more about this innovative charity on our website. Our customers, like the rest of us here at White Stores, jumped at the chance to do something positive for Greenfingers and the amazing work they do for children and families nationwide."

"On behalf of everyone here at Greenfingers thank you so much for generously supporting Greenfingers Garden Re-Leaf 2015," comments Linda Petrons, head of fundraising at Greenfingers. "We are thrilled that White Stores raised such a huge amount which will help us continue our work creating magical and inspiring gardens for children in hospices, and their families to enjoy.”
