Sofamaker Whitemeadow celebrated its 25th anniversary in the upholstery industry on 12th December, marking the day of its inception.
MD Ian Oscroft says: “The business has developed beyond recognition in our 25 years, starting from humble beginnings with a handful of employees at our first site, to where we are now, one of the biggest furniture makers in the UK with six manufacturing units and over 600 employees. This achievement is solely down to one thing, and that is the people who have worked for us over the years.”
Whitemeadow has over 20 employees that have more than 20 years’ experience at the company, totalling over 567 years. To mark the occasion, staff across all six sites were treated to cupcakes and a free prize draw. The company also unveiled its own Wall of Fame, celebrating those members of staff who have worked at Whitemeadow for 25 years.
Head of group sales, Daniel Oscroft, adds: “Exciting times are ahead for Whitemeadow, as the next few years will see us focus not only on strengthening our position as a key supplier to the UK’s upholstery market, but we will also focus on becoming a company recognised for its sustainability by implementing manufacturing processes and products that address current environmental concerns.”
Whitemeadow is looking forward to starting 2020 at its biggest stand to date at the January Furniture Show.
