Delivery companies carry their clients’ reputations, says DSV Solutions

According to DSV Solutions, the continuing rise in internet shopping is loosening the ties between customer and retailer, with delivery companies increasingly taking over as the face of the retailer.

“If people do not go into shops and talk to the salespeople or even a cashier, then the only representative of the retailer they see is the person arriving at their door with a delivery,” says Patrick Turner, head of business development at DSV.

“So, it is crucial that retailers ensure they select a delivery company which reflects their company values and ethos. This is especially true for the delivery of larger items, such as furniture, where the delivery person or team needs to enter the house to take the item to the selected room. This delivery process may also include removal of packaging and of the old item.”

DSV Solutions offers a full range of logistics services, from single packages to two-man delivery for both high street retailers and internet-only companies.

It will also handle returns, and offers a wide range of other value-added services including re-work, repack, pre-delivery assembly and environmental disposal.

“We make very sure that all people – from admin to our warehouse staff, drivers through to our two-man delivery teams – understand that our customers’ reputations are in their hands,” concludes Patrick.
