Donna, Royams

Royams' Donna chair has won the coveted Which? Best Buy Riser Recliner Award 2014, a category specifically for powered riser/recliner chairs. The award recognises a number of factors including comfort, ease of use, speed of action, secure and stable action, plus the Donna’s quadruple battery back-up and substantial solid beech wood grips – as well as safety features unique to Royams’ motion chairs, including the Free-Fall Back system in recline mode, which prevents damage to an object or thechair, if it is obstructed.

Established in Blackburn in 1980, the family-run upholstery manufacturer specialises in high-seat, orthopeadic chairs designed for supportive seating, as well as motion furniture. Royams claims that it was the first company in the UK to introduce a tailored-to-fit concept, recognising that one size does not fit all in this sector. As well as offering options of standard, petite and king sizes in many of the models, Royams makes provision for the height, width and depth of its seats to be changed to suit an individual’s needs. The chairs are available in a range of reclining and lifting actions, operational at the touch of a button, and a five-year guarantee on the motors and mechanisms promises peace of mind.
