British mattress manufacturer GNG Group is strengthening its position in the contract market, having achieved CRIB 5 (Ignition Source 5) accreditation for all products in its Komfi range of Unity mattresses.
Following rigorous testing, all nine models in the company’s Komfi Unity range have been approved. Offering varying components, tensions and depths, there are models suitable for a range of requirements within the contract sector. All models have passed UK Fire Regulations 1988 and are now categorised as being Crib 5 Medium Hazard in line with BS7177.
With a competitive price point, the Komfi Unity range, which was launched last year, provides an affordably priced mattress and is suitable for the rental market, student accommodation, hotels, bed and breakfast accommodation, holiday parks and boarding schools.
“Achieving this fire safety accreditation means that as well as being a fantastic source of margin for the consumer environment, all products in our Komfi Unity range are now also certified as being suitable for sale into the contract market as they meet Government legislation for mattresses and beds regulations for hospitality businesses,” explains Richard Gretton, commercial director of GNG Group.
“Given our short and responsive lead times, our retail partners will be able to target a different sector, quickly responding to enquiries with a proven product that is already successfully used in thousands of homes across the UK. With hotel and student accommodation refits often taking place between August and November, the launch of our Komfi Unity contract products comes at an ideal time as hospitality businesses seek mattresses which provide excellent value as well as quality and comfort.”
