Loaf extends home delivery contract

Wincanton has extended its supply partnership contract with omnichannel home furnishings retailer Loaf.

The additional three-year contract builds on six years of collaboration between the companies, which has seen Wincanton support Loaf’s growth across the UK while managing customer services for its ecommerce channels.

As part of the extended contract, Wincanton will fulfil orders across the UK and make around 50,000 deliveries each year. Wincanton will continue to provide supply chain services to Loaf including warehouse services, order fulfilment and carrier management, as well as premium home delivery. This involves handling key products for the brand including sofas, armchairs, mattresses, and tables, with technicians who assemble and position the delivery in the customer’s home.

Loaf will benefit from Wincanton’s investment in a dedicated 120,000 sqft ecommerce distribution centre in Harlow, Essex.

As part of the group’s wider commitment to reach net-zero emissions by 2040, this home delivery service is carbon neutral and enabled through a combination of enhanced vehicle technology, electrification, and carbon offsetting.

Carl Moore, MD for efulfilment at Wincanton, says: “Extending our two-person premium home delivery contract with Loaf is a major milestone in our collaboration. It is testament to the strength of our services and how we support our customers as they grow and make investments in our facilities, enabling our customers to focus on their product. We look forward to continuing to help facilitate Loaf’s growth in the years to come.”

Rob Pierce, director of operations at Loaf, adds: "Our goal is to deliver an exceptional customer experience and our delivery service is a crucial part of this. Wincanton is the best partner for the job and we look forward to continuing our relationship with them."
