Internationally-recognised designer Kavi received attention from design circles last year for her work on contemporary carpet collection, Chaos Theory. Her newest collection, Project Error – also available from Jaipur Rugs – goes a step further in reimagining the canvas that rugs present.
Project Error uses high-quality Persian knotting in wool and bamboo silk to represent the concept of misprints. Nature’s interruption of mechanical duplication is evoked to create unique pieces of overlooked art – this collection of contemporary floorcoverings explores what happens when the ordered precision of machines is sidelined by happy accidents.
