Mattress brand Tempur has partnered with international gaming company Xbox to create a unique gaming chair.
The Starfield x Tempur Dream Chair marks the launch of video game, Starfield, the first new game from Bethesda Game Studios in 25 years.
Created using Tempur's unique, pressure-absorbing material – born from NASA technology – the chair was unveiled yesterday in Cologne, Germany, at the world’s largest gaming event, Gamescom, ahead of its official launch on 6th September.
The unique collaboration between the two global brands is a celebration of the history of space exploration.
The Dream Chair was designed and handcrafted by Nicholas Alexander, whose previous work includes installations for Louboutin, TUI and eBay.
Independent motion control is enabled thanks to a joystick on each armrest, and the Dream Chair has been designed to be fully accessible, pivoting to both the left and right in order to remove the need to step into the design.
Following Gamescom, the chair will be featured at the Saturn Xperion store in Germany, before enjoying a month-long residency at the Tempur store in Westfield, Stratford, this October.

Complete with modular cockpit, it artfully mirrors Starfield gameplay to give players the feeling of truly captaining their own spaceship, whilst the incorporation of the unique Tempur Material ensures ultimate comfort as gamers lose themselves in play.”
