As part of its ongoing commitment to customer service, Gallery Direct held an at-home event at its Wiltshire factory in May to offer clients the chance to look behind the scenes and see new products …
At the factory, Gallery produces divans, mattresses, upholstered bedsteads and headboards, as well as sofabeds, sofas and chairs, and guests at the at-home event saw the team handcrafting made-to-order products the traditional way, applying generations of skills and expertise.
During tours of the newly refurbished showroom, they had an exclusive preview of the new products, which will not be officially launched until the NBF Bed Show in September. These included: two mattress collections – one based on luxury, the other on innovation and technology; several upholstered bedsteads; and an innovative guest bed with added storage, ideal for guest rooms. There was also a new concept bed which combines quality and conscience, and tells a compelling recycling story.
Berni Rowland, the factory’s operations director, says: “It was lovely to meet so many of our customers and to have the chance to show them around our exciting new showroom and the factory so they could see the traditional craftsmanship and skills involved in the manufacturing processes, combined with new product technologies. The feedback we received from them was incredibly positive. They were impressed with the improvements we have made at the site – especially on the production floor and in the showroom.”
On the mattress side, as well as its made-to-order and in-stock Simply Sleep collections, Gallery offers customers the opportunity to adapt the labelling, giving them exclusive own-label products. For larger orders, Gallery will work with clients to make mattresses to spec.
Sally Simmons, UK sales manager, comments: “All the new products were well received, with pre-sale orders taken – and many customers liked the idea of own-label mattresses. As well as enjoying being able to see the production side, our clients appreciated being asked for feedback on the new products and development ideas, and I’d like to thank them all for their input.
“The new concept bed was considered to be a great idea, with some helpful comments and thoughts being given. We showed them a sofabed we are currently developing, and took on board their feedback to help achieve the right look. All in all, the event went extremely well, and is one that I am sure we will repeat.”
Those who were unable to attend can visit Gallery at the Bed Show on stand B50, where they will be able to see new products, find out more about the company’s new concept bed, and discuss show offers with the sales team.
