The Furniture Makers’ Company has launched a free digital HR toolkit aimed at SMEs. The toolkit is split into three sections and will give businesses operating in the furnishing industry information regarding hiring, developing and engaging/retaining staff.
It can be accessed for free by registering via the Furniture and Interiors Education, Skills and Training Alliance’s (FIESTA) website. By registering, businesses will have access to the latest policies and procedures required to hire and manage employees as well as advice and case studies – both written and video - with companies from industry.
The toolkit was commissioned by The Furniture Makers’ Company specifically for the furnishing industry and produced by the Right Step HR. The content will be reviewed annually to ensure that all of the policies and procedures remain relevant and up to date with industry standards.
Jonny Westbrooke, CEO of The Furniture Makers’ Company, says: “We are very pleased to have launched this new HR Toolkit, which is packed full of useful information and downloadable documents you can use to help maximise the contribution your employees make to the success of your business.
“The toolkit is split into three sections to help you quickly navigate and easily find the information you need. Each section covers an overview of best practice approaches and relevant employment law.”
Gary Baker, FIESTA chairman, adds: “FIESTA is delighted to be hosting this fantastic new resource, as part of our ongoing commitment to education and training for the furniture and interiors industry. Trade associations and organisations from across the UK furniture and interiors industries united last year under the single banner of FIESTA to combat the threat of a widening skills gap. This toolkit will support companies to effectively hire, develop and engage with their staff – thus helping reduce the gap.”
