Sleepeezee celebrates centenary with the NBF

As Sleepeezee celebrates 100 years of making luxury beds in the UK, the brand is also marking its centenary as a member of the National Bed Federation (NBF).

Combining top-quality materials, innovative designs and traditional techniques, the business handcrafts high-quality pocket spring mattresses. With a 300-strong team of craftspeople based in Sleepeezee’s manufacturing facilities in Rochester, Kent, every detail of each bespoke mattress is carefully checked for consistency and quality.

As well as joining the NBF in 1924 when the company was founded, Sleepeezee has also been a Royal Warrant holder for over 30 years, demonstrating its quality and service.

Sleepeezee started its 100-year celebrations last year at the NBF’s Bed Show in Telford where it launched its Centurial mattress, which was named as the NBF Bed Product of the Year winner and has gone on to sell in the thousands over the last 12 months.

MD Steve Warren comments: “We were one of the early members of the NBF and they’ve been a great partner over the years. The Bed Show they organise is the industry platform we use for our launches – we plan our product strategy around it as we know that all the retailers will be there.

“We’re looking forward to continuing our centenary celebrations at this year’s Bed Show and will be launching four new collections, comprising 12 new mattress designs. It’s always a great opportunity for networking with retailers, peers and suppliers.

“The NBF has played a vital role in driving up quality within the industry as it has a strictly audited Code of Practice which gives consumers peace of mind that they are buying from a trusted brand. In addition, our production team benefits from the NBF’s technical forums and updates regarding new legislation and regulations, as well as having the chance to make their voices heard. We also have access to valuable consumer data to inform our marketing, as well as information-sharing and best practice for sustainability, and we’re currently talking to the NBF about bed apprenticeship schemes.

“Overall, the NBF is a very active trade body that understands how to engage with its members and really adds value both by raising consumer awareness of their standing, and also by providing a wealth of resources.”

Tristine Hargreaves, executive director of the NBF, adds: “We’re proud to be marking 100 years of supporting Sleepeezee – after the success of the Centurial mattress launched at last year’s Bed Show, we’re excited to see this year’s new products.”

Membership
of the NBF offers a number of benefits from technical, marketing, HR and sustainability support to training and education, and health and safety services.
