Start the buying year with confidence at JFS '27

The furniture industry is preparing to come together once again as January Furniture Show (JFS) returns to the NEC Birmingham from 24-27th January 2027, setting the tone for the buying year ahead …

For 37 years, JFS has been a trusted destination for the furniture buying community, connecting retailers, manufacturers and suppliers at a key point in the buying calendar. Bringing together established names, emerging businesses and international brands, the show puts sourcing at its heart, helping buyers discover new products, strengthen supplier relationships and plan for the year ahead.

Four halls, endless sourcing opportunities
With in excess of 500 brands and more than 50,000 products across four curated halls, JFS promises to offer the scale, variety and commercial choice buyers need.

Hall 1 (Premium Design) brings together design-led collections, premium furniture and established international names. From statement upholstery to contemporary living, buyers can explore distinctive designs, quality materials and craftsmanship.

Hall 2 (Home, Garden & Lifestyle) offers products to complement core furniture collections, including accessories, lighting, rugs, textiles, occasional furniture and outdoor living. It promises an opportunity for retailers to diversify their ranges and explore new categories.

Hall 3 (Living, Dining & Cabinet) focuses on everyday furniture sourcing, with an extensive selection of bedroom, dining, living and cabinet furniture across different styles, price points and manufacturing approaches.

Hall 5 (Upholstery & Beds), meanwhile, brings together sofas, chairs, beds, mattresses and sleep solutions, from established bestsellers to new developments in comfort, materials and design.

Together, the four halls aim to make it easy to compare collections, explore complementary categories and discover new commercial opportunities.

Leading brands and new collections
The 2027 exhibitor line-up combines some of the industry's most recognisable names with emerging suppliers and international manufacturers.

Leading exhibitors already confirmed include Whitemeadow, Buoyant, Stressless, La-Z-Boy, Tetrad, Wiemann, Rauch, Julian Bowen, Nicoletti, Premier Furniture, Maxfurn, Hill Interiors, Seconique, Highgrove Beds, Baker Furniture, Taylors Creative, Lebus, Dura Beds, ROM, Image Furnishing, Surya and Wersal, alongside many more.

For buyers, this breadth creates an opportunity to reconnect with trusted suppliers while discovering new brands, collections and manufacturing capabilities.

International exhibitors will also play an important role, with brands from Italy, Germany, Denmark, Belgium, Poland, Ireland and beyond bringing their latest collections to Birmingham.

From European design and specialist manufacturing to large-scale international production, buyers can explore a wider sourcing landscape, compare potential partners and discover new opportunities without travelling between multiple overseas exhibitions.

“With new product launches alongside established ranges, JFS offers retailers the chance to identify emerging trends and products with the potential to become their next bestsellers,” says organiser, The Furniture Shows.

Why in person still matters
“In an increasingly digital marketplace, the value of experiencing furniture first-hand remains difficult to replicate,” The Furniture Shows continues. “Photographs and specifications can only tell buyers so much.

“At JFS, they can sit on sofas, test mattresses, examine materials, assess craftsmanship and speak directly with the manufacturers and suppliers behind the products. These face-to-face conversations also provide opportunities to discuss pricing, lead times, product development and future partnerships. Whether reviewing an existing supplier's latest collection or exploring a new product category, being able to compare products and ask questions helps retailers make more confident buying decisions.”

Where the industry does business
Beyond product discovery, JFS remains an important meeting point for the wider furniture community.

The show promises to bring together more than 20,000 buyers, including independent retailers, major multiples, department stores, online retailers, buying groups and interior specialists. Its VIP Buyer Programme welcomed more than 1,000 VIP buyers in 2026 – an increase of 28% YoY, reflecting the show's importance to senior decision-makers and high-value retail accounts.

Collectively, says The Furniture Shows, the event’s buyer audience represents £10.5b in purchasing power, highlighting the commercial opportunities created by bringing the industry together: “Whether meeting existing partners, making new contacts or discussing future opportunities, JFS provides the space to build relationships that extend well beyond the show.”

More than sourcing
The experience extends beyond the exhibition halls, with opportunities to learn, exchange ideas and celebrate industry achievements.

The Retail Revealed Stage will host discussions exploring the opportunities and challenges facing furniture businesses. From retail strategy and consumer behaviour to emerging trends and innovation, the programme will offer practical insights visitors can take back to their businesses.

JFS will also welcome the return of the Excellence in Furniture Awards on Monday 25th January. Following its successful debut, the awards will recognise the brands, retailers, teams and individuals making an impact across the industry, celebrating innovation, craftsmanship and outstanding achievements.

Together, these features make JFS a place to share knowledge, recognise success and look towards the future.

Start the buying year with confidence
“Taking place at the beginning of the year, JFS arrives as retailers review their ranges, identify gaps and consider the products and partnerships needed for the months ahead,” says the show’s organiser. “In four days, buyers can explore thousands of products, discover new suppliers, compare collections and gain a clearer understanding of where the market is heading.

“For furniture retailers, manufacturers, buyers and industry professionals, January Furniture Show 2027 is an opportunity to start the year with fresh ideas, stronger connections and new commercial possibilities.”
