Stars meet sleep and sound at luxury bedmaker event

Stars and celebrities turned out for the launch of a new collaboration between luxury bedmaker Duxiana and hi-fi giant Bang & Olufsen last month.

The exclusive launch event, held at the Duxiana showroom in Marylebone, London, attracted figures including world-renowned chef Aldo Zilli, TV presenter and psychotherapist Melinda Messenger (pictured), Spurs football legends Ossie Ardiles and Ledley King, and pop stars Ben Ofoedu of Phats & Small, and Angie Brown.

Soul singer Angie, famous for her 90s hit “I’m Gonna Get You,” said: "This bed is amazing – it’s made for loving!”

Former England footballer Ledley remarked: "These Dux beds are really state of the art. They can be tailored to your size, muscle density and weight to give you the opportunity for a night of perfect sleep, rest, and recovery."

Melinda Messenger, whose expertise in sleep and dream analysis added a layer of interest to the evening, was also eager to test out the beds.

The latest headboard, crafted from either solid oak or walnut, features integrated Beosound Level speakers with a two-way setup, premium woofers, built-in Wi-Fi, Bluetooth connectivity, long-lasting battery life, and wireless charging capabilities. They are also the world's first Cradle to Cradle Certified speakers at the bronze level.

The event was attended by the CEO of Duxiana, Henrik Ljung – great-grandson of founder Efraim Ljung, a Swedish chocolate-maker turned luxury bedmaker, who formed Dux and began manufacturing mattresses in Malmö in 1926.

Kevin Slade, director of growth and development at Duxiana, comments: "Our collaboration with Bang & Olufsen marks a milestone in luxury living, blending sleep performance with cutting-edge audio technology to craft unparalleled experiences."

Tiina Alahuhta-Kasko, head of industrial design at Bang & Olufsen, adds: "This partnership pushes the boundaries of design and technology, redefining luxury with integrated audio and sleep solutions."

The evening also marked another significant milestone in the brand's history, with the launch of the latest version of the popular Dux bed from the new Sustainable Comfort collection. The collection features a fully re-engineered, advanced-customisable, and replaceable component bed with the unique Dux spring system, complemented by fine natural materials.

Guests had the opportunity to experience the Dux beds firsthand, while exploring iconic furniture pieces such as the Jetson and Karin chairs, which have helped cement the brand's reputation for design and comfort.
