West Yorkshire-based bed and furniture retailer Bedkingdom has appointed Katherine McNamee to the newly formed role of head of brand and creative, where she will be responsible for the company’s growing online visibility and brand development.
In her role, Katherine will oversee Bedkingdom’s entire creative and brand output including social media, channel management, visual direction, branding, campaigns, content strategy, collaborations and creative direction across all platforms.
“My journey at Bedkingdom has been very rewarding so far,” she says. “From the start, I’ve been given the freedom to explore ideas, make decisions and shape the role in a way that’s been hugely empowering. It’s been exciting to see ideas come to life and to grow alongside the business.”
She adds that the role represents a major milestone in her career: “It’s a huge confidence boost to know the business trusts my vision and capabilities. I’m incredibly grateful for the support and opportunities I’ve had so far, and I’m excited to make a real impact in this new role.”
Before joining Bedkingdom, Katherine worked as an assistant buyer at Furniture 123. She graduated from Nottingham Trent University with a BA in International Fashion Business.
As head of brand and creative, she plans to focus on strengthening Bedkingdom’s market presence and building deeper connections with customers.
“The biggest opportunity is to take the Bedkingdom brand to the next level,” she says. “There’s huge potential to grow our reach and brand awareness while creating more authentic connections with our audience.”
Over the next 12-24 months, she plans to build stronger brand recognition through a consistent visual identity and impactful storytelling, helping position Bedkingdom as a brand customers connect with.
“I want Bedkingdom to feel like a brand people genuinely trust, engage with and enjoy,” she adds. “The goal is to create a distinctive presence that is aspirational and accessible, builds loyalty and leaves a lasting impression.”
Bedkingdom currently employs 49 people and continues to grow steadily. The company is also recruiting for a business development representative and a paid media specialist.
Bedkingdom has several brand-owned ranges of furniture, including Flair Furnishings, Noomi, Recoil, and Solace+Co, and curates a collection of boutique furniture brands.
