Bensons raises £6,165 for homelessness charity

Bensons for Beds has raised £6,165 for Crisis, the national charity for people experiencing homelessness, through a fundraising campaign linked to its Slumberland mattress range.

The UK sleep specialist donated £5 for every qualifying Slumberland mattress sold during the campaign, with customers across the country helping to generate the final donation.

Bensons is announcing the total ahead of World Homeless Day on Saturday 10th October, which raises awareness of homelessness and the action needed to ensure everyone has a safe and secure place to call home.

The donation will support Crisis in its work alongside people experiencing or at risk of homelessness. This includes helping people to find safe and affordable homes and providing practical, one-to-one support with areas such as employment, benefits and healthcare.

Mark Slater, CCO at Bensons for Beds, says: “Everyone should have a safe and secure place to call home. As a business focused on helping people live and sleep well, we are proud to support Crisis and its vital work with people experiencing homelessness.

“Our customers have helped us raise £6,165 simply by choosing a Slumberland mattress included in the campaign in just 7 days. We are incredibly grateful for their support and pleased that, together, we can make a meaningful contribution to helping people build a life beyond homelessness.

“World Homeless Day is an important reminder that homelessness is not inevitable and that businesses, charities and communities all have a role to play in creating lasting change.”

Kelly Holliday, national partnerships lead at Crisis, adds: “We are hugely grateful to Bensons for Beds and its customers for this generous donation. The money raised will help us continue working alongside people experiencing homelessness, giving them urgently needed safety, support and belief to build a life beyond homelessness."
