The British Furniture Association (BFA) has forged stronger links with Minerva Furniture Group, an independent buying group working on behalf of many of the leading UK furniture retailers.
A new co-operation between the two parties promises to further enhance the ‘retailer’ membership category within the national trade body, while providing advantages for Minerva members which join the BFA.
In a further demonstration of support, the BFA will be exhibiting at the buying group's Autumn Furniture Show in October.
Phil Spademan, MD of the BFA, says: “We are very pleased to have established this new relationship and look forward to welcoming Minerva members into BFA retailer membership.
"We work with our retail members to utilise the benefits available through the BFA, and to promote the products made by British furniture manufacturers in the UK. Our mission is to be the voice of our industry, provide effective representation and offer services that support members’ business interests as part of a collective body promoting the industry.
“I am confident that Minerva group members will recognise the value of BFA membership and look forward to discussing this directly with delegates at the autumn show.”
BFA retail members can access a range of services including a legal helpline, targeted training courses, access to BFA webinars and networking events, and direct representation with industry governing bodies.
Julian Cox, COO at Minerva, says: “We are delighted to be supporting this new initiative with the BFA for our members, supporting the BFA and the industry."
