British furniture wholesaler enters Australian market

British furniture wholesaler and dropshipping specialist Artisan Furniture has announced the launch of its Australian operations, marking the latest stage of its international growth strategy following its entry into the Canadian market in 2024.

Headquartered in Westminster, London, Artisan Furniture supplies handcrafted furniture through a network of independent retailers, online sellers, interior designers and trade customers. The business operates a multi-market model that already serves customers across the UK, North America, and parts of Europe.

The Australian launch introduces a dedicated local platform and fulfilment infrastructure designed to support retailers across the country with faster delivery times and local stock availability. The company has already established relationships with major Australian furniture and homewares retailers including Freedom Furniture and Temple & Webster, alongside a growing number of independent retail partners.

Founded as a British business with manufacturing roots in Jaipur, India, Artisan Furniture specialises in handcrafted furniture made from sustainably sourced solid wood, combining traditional craftsmanship with a technology-led wholesale and dropshipping model. The company has invested heavily in digital infrastructure over the past decade, enabling retailers to access product data, inventory feeds and order management tools across multiple markets.

The Australian expansion forms part of a broader internationalisation programme that has seen the company establish fulfilment operations in the UK, US, Canada, Germany, and now Australia. While products are manufactured in India, commercial operations, intellectual property, technology development, compliance and strategic management continue to be directed from the company’s UK headquarters.

Commenting on the launch, Amit Basu, the founder and CEO of Artisan Furniture (pictured), says: “Australia represents a natural next step in our international growth journey. The market has responded positively to our combination of handcrafted furniture, flexible fulfilment solutions, and technology-driven retail support. We are delighted to be working with both established national retailers and independent businesses as we continue to expand the Artisan Furniture brand internationally.”
